Gas line fished back up through the new hole and the valve from the old fireplace connected as the new valve that came with the fireplace is nowhere to be found. I found out later it was in the 'foreman's van.
In the time between this work and my nasty-gram email to the contractor, I found out permits had NOT been pulled and the fireplace store owner was taking care of that. I drove to the store and parked my ass outside and waited for him to show up. He proceeded to tell me he's submitted the application (Which I know was BS because I'd literally just got off a call with the building department and they had *NO* record of any applications under the company name, the contractor name, my name, or my address) Amazingly, the next day, I get notification that a permit has been approved. Great, I'll continue with my gas relocation.
