The plan to build a dam-less shower would all depend on what I found under the subflloor. Worst case scenario would be a very small dam if lower the subfloor 3-4" wasn't possible. I laid out the new recess on the floor and got to cutting. Once I saw this, I told the homeowner a dam-less shower would be possible and that's what I'd be building.
