I had a vague idea where the control wire ran to the other side of the yard, but needed a way to find it for sure. Thankfully, I have a cable locator and it's capable of telling you where a wire is and about how deep it is. Once you get a bead on the wire, start pot-holing. This is my first pot-hole and yep, that's the wire at the top edge of the hole.
