I picked up a 10' length of 1x3 MDF and got to work cutting parts for the attic access frame. It'll be 31" x 21" inside when it's done and it'll be glued up and then nailed into position. The dimensions will allow for a 5/8" 'shelf' for the 'door' to sit on.
