So, the "dust free" gizmo does suck up like 90% of the dust, but it's incredibly awkward to use, mainly because the "boot" around the hinged area on the head is quite stiff and makes it hard to get a good angle on the head so you end up in an uncomfortable position while sanding to ensure you get full contact with the wall. I went back to a standard pole sander and a little block to get the detail areas knocked down. Duct taping the Shop-Vac hose to the pole sucks up as much dust as the fancy gizmo and it's easier to use.
