The beams are 19-20 inches apart which is a bit too wide of a span for hanging drywall, so I added nailers every 24 inches. The 2x4 nailer will be where a factory edge seam is on the drywall. Using a 2x4 gives me plenty of nailing surface so I won't have screws too close to the ends of the panels.
