I'd measured up the kitchen space and drew up an initial plan on the computer. The window to the left of the refrigerator space on the right is actually an existing door to an enclosed deck. We'd thought about just pulling the door out and closing off the wall, but I thought turning it into a window would allow for more light. Things changed as we worked the details out and we ended up keeping the door, just moving it a couple feet over to allow for more counter space.
