Weather held today so I borrowed a small cement mixer, picked up a few bags of concrete and got to work patching the slab. The initial screed is done and I'm waiting on the concrete to set up a bit before I start troweling. I used an entire gallon of concrete adhesive additive (less what I brushed on the sides of the cut out slab) in the mixer. That should get everything to bond nicely.
