So, after following the other end of the broken cable, I discovered it was being used as a feed for the low-voltage cabling at the back of the house and this mess of wire nuts was just buried in the ground. At the top of the pic are my gloved fingers. The cable seemingly protruding from the tip of my finger is the other end of the broken cable. Have I mentioned how half-assed a lot of the crap I've found is?
