I picked up a can of water based wipe on polyurethane in a satin finish. It goes on milky-white, but dries clear. This stuff has no amber tint in it and levels out fairly well if it goes on thick enough. I've dabbed some of the poly into this little 'hole' and you can see the milkiness in some of the cracks.
