All done. Shortly after the halfway part, I decided to try a flap wheel on an angle grinder to knock the majority of the post-hammer stuff down before the final sanding with the orbital. It worked *really* well and I was able to do the last 3 sections in well under 15 minutes. Time to test fit it on the fireplace! (and clean up this mess. It's EVERYWHERE!)
