While my son is welding up my metal parts at his work, I'm back inside making a change to the electrical feed to the fireplace. I don't like bare Romex in the space and there's no need for 2 outlets at the end of that tail. I'm going to replace that whip with some 1/2" metallic flex conduit and 14 AWG silicone wire. The wire is good for 200C and the flexible conduit will offer it better protection, so, I need to change out the J-box. This time, it'll be mounted in its proper location as well.
