During talks with the plan check guy, I was told this header would have to be replaced as it wasn't legal. When I started looking at how to pull it out, I found this jack stud 1/4 inch too short. Anybody know what the load carrying capacity of open air is?

Thankfully, this wall doesn't carry much load at all so the single jack stud on the right is sufficient, but still.....
