The wall to the left of this project is on the back side of the fireplace in my bedroom so I poked another hole behind the bottom plate and took a look inside. All clear, so I grabbed a long drill bit and poked a hole in the drywall below, went downstairs, found the tip of the drill bit and opened up the ceiling a bit.
