The previous hearth had two outlets in it that were removed and the feed wire safed off. I added new J-boxes to either side of the fireplace to replace the old outlets and pulled a new piece of Romex under the fireplace platform using the string I installed in the chase when the platform went in. Power from this circuit comes in from the right. The new wire goes to the J-box on the left side of the fireplace and then feeds power to the fireplace as well as the outlets on the wall to the left of the fireplace. Another feed comes out of this box to power the TV that will be hung above the new fireplace.
