I wanted to scuff up the brass so my primer had something to 'bite' in to, so I grabbed a Scotch-Brite pad and my die grinder. The brass came off really easily, so I just stripped the whole tube. It took 3-4 minutes to strip it completely. What looks like dents in the tubes are actually flat areas the tone bars sit over when it's assembled.
